Mazoon Electricity Company (MZEC) was incorporated by articles of incorporation on Feb 2nd , 2003 under the Commercial Companies Law No. 4/74, and amendments thereto, of Oman.
The MZEC is 100% owned by the Government of the Sultanate of Oman. The company is licenced to own and operate a distribution system and supply electricity to the customers in its licenced areas namely, South Batinah, Al Dakhliyah and Al Sharqiyah regions. The MZEC represents one of several elements of the Government of Oman's policy of privatization of the power sector. |
